Q: I’m brainstorming ideas to help my daughter’s high school club raise money for an educational trip. Any suggestions?
A: Consider having the students sell home/office accessories, bearing the school name and mascot, to parents, faculty, classmates and friends. These items could be sold at assemblies, games, before and after school, and during lunch. A nice pen or combination calculator/calendar would make an excellent choice.
Q: My company has relied heavily on telemarketing to reach prospective customers. I’m concerned about the future legality of this. What’s an effective alternative?
A: Direct mail is a proven method of finding receptive customers. Use a mailing list of select zip codes targeting areas best suited to your service or product. Since no one can resist opening lumpy mail, be sure to include a premium such as a key chain/flashlight, ruler or letter opener.
