Promotional products are a great way to generate business referrals! In 1993, Baylor University conducted a study in which it found that customers who received promotional products are more willing to provide leads than those who receive nothing.
The study involved a group of beauty consultants. Half of the group distributed a promotional gift to their customers while the other half offered no promotional items. Both groups then asked their 200 customers for referrals.
Findings:
- Those customer who received a promotional item were 14% more likely to offer leads and referrals than those who did not.
- Those who used promotional items saw a 22% increase in referrals over the group who used nothing.
- 40% commented how well the promotional items went over with their customers
